Dec 20! This day matters me any way. I was inaugurating convention of transport workers’ local unit in Kapan- Kathmandu as the chief guest. Variou dignitaries in local areas were invited there. Prior to me, many of them addressed the convention. Some were too polite, some- take for example the Maoist representative, as usual had been vomiting hard words posing themselves “most” revolutionaries.
Among them a seasoned personality was beside me, he was our own literature Purna Prakash Nepal “Yaatri”. He politely spoke in his
turn and whispered with me about Neapli political transition.
I was last speaker and had delivered my inaugural speech. What I spoke was not so important but the praise made by the
octogenarian personality was quite inspiring me.
“Once, our ancestor had sealed boundary of my nation-state from Tista to Satlaj. Unfortunately, we lost 1814-16 war with British
India; we lost almost one-third Nepal. Let don’t make mistake in this political transition… we have to hand over un-divided Nepal to
our future generation!”
“Tapai ko mantabya le mero haddi hansyo- dhanya bad (I really enjoyed your speech, thank you)” the old man said.
When I was just bidding farewell to him, he asked me to picture together, and then after hug me and burst with tear!”
Coincidently, It was similar incident that I was facing…. once when I was saying goodbye with a Pakistani old-unionist, he did same.
Tear is my weakness, who weeps-it hurts me much! Today, I was so embarrassed!
I will never forget you Yatri jee!
